What battery health means
Every iPhone battery wears out a little over time. Battery health is how much is left.
It is shown as a percent. A brand-new battery is 100%. As you charge and use the phone, that number slowly drops. At 90%, the battery holds 90% of what it did when new. So the phone lasts a little less between charges.
Where to find it
You can check it yourself on any iPhone:
- Open Settings.
- Tap Battery.
- Tap Battery Health & Charging.
- Look at Maximum Capacity.
That percent is the number that matters.
Why it matters when buying refurbished
A worn battery is the most common problem with cheap refurbished phones.
A low number means short battery life. It can also mean the phone slows itself down to cope. So always ask what battery health you are getting. A good seller will tell you.
What we guarantee
Every iPhone we sell is at 90% health or better.
If a phone comes in below that, we replace the battery before we sell it. So you start with plenty of life left, not a tired battery. This is part of our 80 point check.
How to look after your battery
A few simple habits help your battery last:
- Keep the phone out of the hot sun.
- You do not need to drain it to 0%. Top-ups are fine.
- Use a good cable and plug.
- Turn on Optimised Battery Charging in Settings.
Small things, but they add up over a year.
When to replace a battery
If health drops below about 80%, you will notice shorter days.
At that point a new battery brings the phone back to life. It costs far less than a new phone.
The bottom line
Battery health is one quick number. Check it before you buy any phone.
