Our Commitment to Data Privacy During Service

Data privacy is a critical aspect of The Phone Mason’s service standards. We actively avoid accessing personal information unnecessarily and adhere to the following protocols to protect your data:

  • Any customer-approved backup of your data is encrypted and securely deleted after 30 days.
  • Upon completion of a repair, a comprehensive quality control test is necessary to ensure full functionality. This testing is most effective if you provide us with your device’s passcode. However, you have the option to decline providing the passcode, especially if your device contains sensitive information.

Procedures if You Choose Not to Provide Your Passcode

If you opt not to provide your device passcode, we request the following to facilitate testing:

iPhone:

  • Please ensure AssistiveTouch is activated.
  • Confirm that the camera function is accessible from the lock screen menu (i.e., not disabled).

Mac:

  • We ask that a guest user account is active on the device.

iPad:

  • We request that you perform a full backup of your data and then reset the iPad to its factory settings. This allows us to conduct thorough testing with full access to device functions without accessing your personal data.

Procedures if You Provide Us with Your Passcode

If you choose to provide your passcode, our access is strictly limited to what is necessary for quality control testing. We will only access the following:

  • Phone / Call application: To test call functionality, microphone, speakers, and proximity sensors.
  • Camera application: To test front and rear cameras. We will not access your photo gallery or stored images/videos.
  • Settings application: To test device calibrations, network connectivity (Wi-Fi, cellular), and other system settings.
  • Physical components: We will test all physical buttons, Wi-Fi connectivity, and USB charging amperage.

Be assured that we will not open any other applications or access any other data on your device without obtaining your explicit prior permission.
